SENTIMENT EN TRANSIT: TRIBUTE TO CUIXART
In 2006 a tribute to the great painter Modest Cuixart was held.
The opening ceremony, with the presence of Modest Cuixart himself, took place at the Palau Dalmases on Montcada Street in Barcelona, under the leadership of the journalist Mónica Terribas, and chaired by a table formed by Mr. Carles Martí, Councilor of Culture from the Barcelona City Council; Mrs. Mercè Corbera, Councilor for Culture of the Terrassa City Council; Mr. Josep Colomer, President of Caixa Penedès; Mr. Agustí Colomines, Director of Unesco.cat; Mrs. Marta Ferrusola, wife of President Jordi Pujol; Mr. Vicenç Villatoro, journalist and writer, Mr. Josep Mª Cadena, art critic and the Artistic Direction of the painter Carmen Valverde.
More than 50 artists from all over the world participated in the tribute, offering a collective exhibition within the framework of the Cuixart Foundation (Barcelona).
Modest Cuixart was one of the most representative painters of spanish post-civil war, co-founder of the "Dau al Set" group together with Joan Brossa, Antoni Tàpies, Joan Ponç, Arnau Puig and Joan-Josep Tharrats. Together they founded one of the most important thought and art groups of the 1950´s, bringing with them the second avant-garde of the 20th century.

ANTHOLOGY AT SALA MUNCUNILL TERRASSA
In Terrassa, one of the most complete anthological exhibition of the painter was held in the Sala Muncunill."Enigmes amb bisturi" was the title chosen for the anthology, which under the curation of Radio Zurich, Acebuch and Carmen Valverde could be seen in the city of Terrassa.
The three fundamental points of the work (perhaps of all works that are complete) are found in Cuixart without a doubt, the enigma as a poem, the system of access to the universes with the signs with which the forms of those universes are described. . So we can show in our presentation of his work why Cuixart's work is a poem, what his ship is for traveling and the substances with which he models the poem. Are its substances particular or universal?
Cuixart curator at the Forum Berger Balaguer
The Caixa Penedes Foundation has carried out an anthological exhibition of the Catalan painter Modest Cuixart. The works were exhibited at the Berger Balaguer Forum in Vilafranca del Penedés. During the opening ceremony, renowned personalities from the world of culture had words of praise for the painter's career. The opening ceremony was chaired by the president of Caixa Penedés, the writer Vicenç Villatoro and the art critic and writer Francesc Miralles.
