TRAJECTORY
CARMEN VALVERDE

Valverde has permanent work in different public and private institutions (Los Angeles Museum, Terrassa City Council, Salamanca Cathedral Museum...)

Valverde's debut, the collection "PEOPLE OF THE WORLD", has been exhibited for several years nationally and internationally; being welcomed by the specialized press with headlines such as "the face of feeling", "the commitment of an artist to the disinherited", "when art becomes aware" ..., among others.
At a more advanced stage, he immersed himself fully in contemporary sacred painting, creating works that have been incorporated into the art collections of different churches and cathedrals in Spain. His most personal and striking creation is the collection of oil paintings "ON A BLACK BLACKGROUND - VIA CRUCIS 21st CENTURY". The collection, unseen by the general public, is the result of six years of work and is made up of 14 large-format oil paintings on canvas, in which the figure of Jesus Christ is represented in each of the steps of the classic Via Crucis, but under a personal and unpublished vision.
Her collection “ACROMÍAS” is very interesting, consisting of smaller works painted directly with black oil on canvas, with which she pays tribute to the world of music and musicians.
Her next collection, called “EXPRESSIONS”, consisting of 16 large-format works painted on board with oil and enamels, based on photographs by Santi Olivet, where expressions of all kinds are shown on female faces, has been exhibited in large exhibition spaces in the cities of Terrassa and Tarragona, seeing her tour interrupted as a result of the confinement caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The introspection of this period of confinement has led the painter to experiment with new techniques and to create several series integrated into the “ESSAYS” collection.
In 2024 Valverde presented the collection “LET NOT EVEN KISSES SILENCE US”, the Valverde's contribution to the fight against gender-based violence. Composed of 17 large-format oil paintings focused on the representation of women who, through art, express their protest and encourage not to remain silent in the face of violence and abuse.

Valverde took part in the Moaré 2025 Festival in Terrassa with “Art on Loop,” an immersive project blending digital art, light, and music. Her participation included a live body painting performance and the exhibition of physical works, contributing to a multidisciplinary event focused on fashion, audiovisual culture, and artistic innovation.
“10 meters for Gaza”, Valverde's most recent project, is a powerful oil painted mural portraying real victims of the conflict, capturing pain, dignity, and human rights violations. The artwork has gained strong media attention and cultural impact, being exhibited in Terrassa and projected as an itinerant piece, raising awareness through art and social engagement.
Valverde has held numerous individual exhibitions and participated in many art fairs and group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally, with various art galleries.
She has been part of several cultural associations such as ACEA's, Amigos del Realismo, AFIACO, Solidaritat Cultural d'Art or Terrassa Street Art, with which she has collaborated in the organization of meetings and exhibitions.
Her open and altruistic spirit has led her to collaborate with different NGOs, making numerous donations of her works for fundraising; to participate in educational experiences aimed at promoting equality in schools through her painting and to collaborate in numerous cultural events for charitable purposes.
Valverde complements his artistic activity with the curating and technical direction of exhibitions, among which it is worth highlighting “Sentiment en transit: Tribute to Cuixart” held at the Cuixart Foundation in Barcelona, “Enigmes amb bisturí: retrospective of Modest Cuixart” held at the Sala Muncunill in Terrassa, “Cuixart anthological exhibition” held at the Caixa Penedés headquarters in Vilafranca.
